DSATM and the Department of Management Studies have established a strong reputation in higher education. Established in 2011, the department has witnessed significant growth with the support of experienced faculty having rich academic, industry and research expertise. The department became Autonomous under VTU in the year 2023.

The department offers a two-year full-time MBA programme, with diverse specializations and combinations. The focus is on holistic student development through a balance of academic learning, professional inputs, life-skill development and experiential learning.

The department promotes strong industry–academia interaction through guest lectures, MoUs, industry partnerships, internships, externships, live projects, seminars, symposia and management conclaves. Industrial visits and tours provide students with practical exposure to the business environment.

Through the in-house Centre for Innovation and Leadership, the department conducts specialized training programmes to enhance students' employability, leadership and professional competencies. The department provide 100% placement assistance.

Overall, the department strives to develop students into knowledgeable, confident, employable and effective managers, while nurturing professional ethics, social responsibility and leadership qualities.
